About Misheard
Misheard is an Aotearoa music publication, media outlet, event promoter and booking agency.
In the midst of our love for the independent, alternative sounds of Tāmaki Makaurau, Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Ōtautahi, and every other corner of the motu, we started organising gigs we wanted to go to.
As Aotearoa music is consistently shortchanged by the commercial music industry and a government that’d rather give their millions to landlords and conglomorates, we decided to build a new platform for bands, artists, gigs, writers, and anyone else who wants to scream from the rooftops about their favourite bands.
Misheard was founded on unceded Māori land, and is committed to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and championing music made by indigenous, diasporic, queer, trans, and other marginalised communities.
